Mimmo Paladino studied art at Liceo Artistico di Benevento
in Italy from 1964-1968, and has since been celebrated as the
founding father of Transavanguardia. In 1980, at the invitation of
Achille Bonito Olivo, Paladino participated in the Aperto ‘80 at the
Venice Biennial, and a major retrospective of his work was held
in Munich at the Stadtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in 1985.
Paladino lives and works in Italy, where he has studios all over the
country, including Rome, Paduli and Puglia.
